Instructions
In this mobile learning activity you will use your web-enabled cellphone or other mobile device to view resources on the web that will enhance your understanding of topics presented at the Optical Illusion exhibit at the Bloomfield Science Museum in Jerusalem. This will allow you to use the exhibit as a jumping point for exploration and to learn more about specific topics that interest you.
This activity consists of the following activities:
- Plan your trip: Use Google to find the museum website. Double check museum hours before you go to make sure it is open when you want to visit. Find and optionally bookmark the directions page to make sure you don't get lost on the way.
- Background Information: Read about optical illusions on Mobile-Pedia
- At The Museum: While you are exploring the exhibit at the museum use your phone's camera to photograph specific illusions that grab your attention. Search Youtube for the name of that optical illusion to find videos that will show the illusion in action and explain more about how it works.
- When you get home: Create a webpage that contains the photos you took at the museum. Link the photos to the videos you found on Youtube so you can share what you learned. Use the Opera browser to make sure the webpage you created is visible on mobile browsers (click on View -> Small Screen to preview) so your students can access and view the resources you collected when they visit the museum. Make sure to include a link to the museum's website so students can get directions and check hours before they make the trip.
